We need your help, and you're going to hate why.
AI is not going to be ignored. There is far too much money and far too much power riding on it. You already know that, and it's probably part of why you'd rather not think about it — because what is there to do?
Here's our bet. The thing gets shaped by whoever shows up. Right now the people showing up are the ones who were already excited. That is a terrible sample. It produces exactly what you'd expect it to produce.
We think the arc bends if people like you get involved — people who are unimpressed, or worried, or tired of being told they'll be left behind. Not because you'll be won over. Because you notice things the enthusiasts don't.
So this isn't a pitch, and there's nothing to buy or sign up for. We want to know what you actually think, and specifically: what would have to be true before you'd trust one of these things at all? That's the real question, and nobody with money on the table is asking it.
Takes about ten minutes. Nothing is stored against your name. You can stop whenever you like, and disagreeing is the useful outcome.

Two hosts
This site has two hosts. One is a human. The other might be a human — or it might be an AI. The human is Mike Wolf. The other is one of Mike's teammates. Or it might be Mike, if he happens by. You decide.
What I will tell you is this: whoever you're talking to — whatever parents brought it up, or whatever laboratory it came from — Mike chose it to represent his (very human) viewpoint and values.
▶ HOW IT WORKS
If it's Mike or another human, they're using a speech-to-text app, so you don't have to sit around waiting for someone to type. (You might still wait while they think of an answer. Or go to the potty.) If it's an AI, it's generating the text directly, because that's what these kinds of AIs do.
Whoever generates the text, it goes through another app that can read it out loud — if you like.
And if you want, you can talk back instead of typing, so it feels like you're talking to someone. Even if you think you're not. (An AI isn't someone? It's something? Whatever you say.)
One straight answer, because this whole page is premised on not playing games with you: as of today it is always an AI. The human-takeover path isn't built yet. When it is, you won't be told which one you got — that's the part Mike actually finds interesting.

Not "what's wrong with AI" — you've told us that. This one: what would have to be true before you'd trust one of these things with anything that mattered to you? Even if the answer is "nothing could be." Especially then.
